MERCURY GOES DIRECT:
On Thursday March 28th at 9:59 A.M. EDT Mercury turns around and we will soon see some clarity as the fog begins to subside. But a word of advice: As this planet reverses direction either way there is a great deal of confusion and errors. For a few days as this planet changes direction you need to be vigilant and make sure that you understand what’s being said. This is often when the worst mistakes are made. We are all trying to catch up on things and often do so without paying attention to details. We perceive that things are clearer than they really are, and that is where the problems come in. This can be a time of misunderstandings even more so than when Mercury is in the depths of its retrograde. In a few days when we have settled into the new direct motion you will feel more at ease and able to express yourself without misunderstandings. While this change of direction won’t suddenly fix all of the problems in your life (what does?) it will make communication and travel a bit easier. Just remember that Mercury is still in Pisces until April 17th, and there will be an air of illusion and misdirection until then. This is a great placement for artists, musicians, writers and actors. Not so great for financiers, business-types or politicians. With a bit of caution and clarity you will be able to regain your footing and move forward.
This has been a very difficult retrograde, especially since the New Moon on March 6th conjunct Neptune, as I warned last month in this newsletter. While all periods of Mercury Rx can be distracting and hard, this period has been so delusional & complicated that it has left many of us scratching our heads and wondering what the f**k to do next. (Mueller report, anyone?) The problem is that many people expect this to all turn around once Mercury changes direction. It isn’t that simple. Yes, there will be some new information coming out in the next few weeks once we get past the shadow phase, and some things will be reversed, but for most issues it will take work and attention to straighten things out. Those who expect miracles and don’t understand just what a miracle astrology really is are doomed to repeated disappointment.
Mueller’s report was built up to such a degree that is it was going to impossible to satisfy either side. Very often during a Retrograde Mercury there are results that are unsatisfactory for many. This is such a case. Those who expected Trump to be taken down thought we would suddenly be handed a manifesto to impeachment, but that was never going to happen, even if the worst was discovered. And anyone who believed that the report would exonerate all the obvious misdeeds and lies perpetrated by this administration were also going to be disappointed. Now that Mercury is going direct we will all have to sift through the information and find the truth. This wasn’t about whether there was direct collusion with Russia, but rather the policies and direction this country has been heading in for years. That is the issue that must be addressed with different and new ideas presented. That is the challenge before us. Hoping for a fairy godmother (or father) to point their magic wand and make it all better is not taking responsibility for the work that must be done and the battle ahead.
There are serious problems in our nation and the world that are being exacerbated on a daily basis. Our government is dysfunctional, our leaders are seemingly not concerned with the welfare of the American people, and the struggle that is before us will not go away unless we make it so.
Anyone who studies astrology and thought we were going to get through this buildup of Capricorn energy in 2020 and our Pluto Return without paying a price just wasn’t seeing the reality of what astrology means. Transits don’t make you sick, or poor, or lonely. Nor will they make you rich, or deliver the love of your life to your doorstep. They are just energy that open windows of opportunity through which we can actively make changes in our lives. That’s called Free-will Astrology, and I’ve always been a proponent of that philosophy. So stand up, take each other’s hand and let’s move our nation and the world forward towards what we believe should be. Don’t let negative input, or the greed and distortion of a political or ruling class make your future for you. And don’t let your personal agenda distract you from seeking the truth and real resolutions to our problems. Anger begets anger. Clarity shows you a clear and vivid path. Follow it with an open mind and heart.
