MERCURY CONJUNCTS MARS:
On Monday July 8th at 6:28 P.M. EDT we will all be a bit feisty and argumentative. The combination of the planet of communication and the god of war always has the potential for trouble. Because Mercury has just reversed direction you need to be especially careful about what you say and how you say it. You may have a strong desire to “set the record straight”, but don’t be too aggressive or overreaching, or you could easily alienate someone and regret it for a long time. It will be hard to restrain your thoughts and you may find that the simplest statement can provoke misunderstanding and a dispute. The retrograde begins in Leo, a very forceful and unbending energy, so until Mercury retrogrades back into Cancer on July 19th it would be wise to pick and choose your fights with care. This can also be an accident prone transit and you need to pay close attention to your environment and avoid any dangerous or violent situations. Be particularly cautious behind the wheel of a car or when traveling in general. There’s no reason to assume that anything will happen, but the more you pay attention the less likely it is. This can be a very impulsive transit and if you leap before you look you could pay the price for your rash behavior.
Mars will square Uranus in a few days, another impetuous force that can also be quite dangerous. For a few days it’s vital that you stay alert and vigilantly aware of what’s going on around you. As with all transits how you approach it will decide the results. If you stay focused and busy this conjunct can be very productive and you can get a lot of work done. But it’s easy to be diverted and if you get distracted it could be a problem.
